KAMPALA - Local investors in the health sector want the government to deploy progressive taxation system where tax rate increases as the taxpayer's income increases.
These note that this approach will support investors whose major goal is to create an impact in communities and create employment for hundreds of citizens.
The appeal was made by Andy Agaba, Founder Karis Medical, during the unveiling of their first Medical Centre in Kyanja ahead of the Flagship Women & Children’s Hospital and Nursing University in Kasangati.
“The government is overwhelmed, and some of us are willing to invest back home to change the lives of hundreds of locals, but it is important that we get a flexible taxation system which will support our drive. The health sector needs investment, but requires huge sums of funding,” Agaba explained.
In a dual celebration, the organization officially launched its first Medical Centre in Kyanja at West Mall and hosted a Thanksgiving family event at the site of its flagship Karis Hospital and Christian Nursing University.
The proprietor explained that the neighbourhood Medical Centre, located at West Mall, Kyanja is designed to provide both outpatient and general medical services, staffed with trained professionals offering compassionate and competent care.
“Guided by values of excellence, integrity, hospitality, and compassion, we are shaping a new era of healthcare by investing in infrastructure, education, and accessibility. As the broader vision unfolds, Karis seeks to become a trusted partner in the health journey of individuals and families throughout the country.
