Female graduands outnumber males at MTAC graduation

KAMPALA - A total of 708 are graduating at the Nakawa-based Management Training and Advisory Centre (MTAC).

Of these, 466 (66 percent) are females, nearly twice the number of males 242 (34 percent).

It is the institution's 11th graduation ceremony, and it is being held under the theme: 'Building capacity for enterprise development'.

'Passport to the future'

Speaking during the graduation ceremony at the campus, Soteri Karanzi Nabeeta, the institution's executive director,  said MTAC focuses on job creation,  outreach development,  and career development, which he says imparts skills to learners to ensure employment.

Nabeeta commended the Government for creating an enabling environment which he said promotes training and skills development. He also congratulated candidates, urging them to believe in their dreams.

"I'm here to tell you that whatever you think your dream is now, it will probably change. And that's okay. Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today, Friday (March 28). "

He implored the graduands to ground themselves in values that last, citing honesty,  hard work, responsibility,  fairness, generosity, and respect.

"Shun behaviours that embarrass humanity and instead work to ensure humanism. We are where we are today so as to serve and ensure fairness for all humans," said the ED.

On his part,  Alex Aikajuka, the institution's communications officer, called on graduates to use the skills attained for survival. He commended MTAC's transformation journey, underscoring the role played by the top leadership of the institution over the years.

"We have given you the skills you need to transform your lives and the world. Please go out there and exhibit a good example, " he urged.
