Growing up, getting new clothes for Christmas was such a big deal that the days leading to December had to be punctuated with a high degree of discipline or else one risked wearing ‘the old’ for a new Christmas. There was no particular dress code although some families took it upon themselves to get one colour for everyone, which in most cases was the eye-soaring disastrous sight of shining bright on the morning of 25^th.

I love colour themed parties, especially when the colour is easily accessible by all invited guests. But not these things of asking people to look for animal print dresses and neon shoes. When you receive such an invite the first thing you have to understand is the type of event, where, what time, as all this aids you in choosing your attire for the day. Brunch is a late morning meal that falls between breakfast and lunch. There is no specific time for it, the way we have one o’clock designated for lunch time. Generally, it falls between late morning and early afternoon. It may sound like a luxurious high end idea but the funny fact is that many, if not all, of us have had brunch in our rooms of only 4 walls when the math was not mathing and you had to skip lunch, but couldn’t make it to lunch time without planning a funeral.
