In 2018, rapper Fik Fameica organised a concert dubbed My Journey at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds. However, it dimmed his star after he failed to convert his music airplay and name buzz into revellers to fill up the venue. Reports later emerged that he wept backstage.
The 28-year-old has now opened up about how his colleagues reacted to the misfortune.
According to Fameica, a huge section of the industry celebrated the low turnout and took turns mocking him.
He said this made him realise not everybody was happy for him as he had assumed.
“I was young and thought everyone was happy to receive me. But it was in 2018 when I held a concert in Kyadondo and I saw vaious reports in the media, saying 'the show flopped, we have survived this one, it is over for him'. And I saw 70% of the industry celebrating. From fellow artistes to the media, people trolled me. I wondered what I did wrong,” the Buligita singer voiced his disappointment while speaking to a city media personality.
Fameica reclaimed his self-esteem in 2022 with a successful concert at Hotel Africana dubbed Fik Fameica Live.
