The legendary band in Uganda's entertainment industry, Afrigo Band, is gearing up to celebrate a remarkable milestone of 48 years in the music scene with an extraordinary event called the "Legends of Sound Concert."
The event will take place at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel Gardens on Saturday, the 5th of August. One of the highlights of the concert will be the guest performance by the renowned Lingala musician from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Awilo Longomba.
Afrigo Band has been leading the Ugandan music scene since its inception in 1975, playing a vital role in shaping the country's cultural heritage and entertaining music enthusiasts across generations.
Awilo Longomba, the guest star, has expressed his excitement about the collaboration, saying, "Can you imagine Afrigo playing Techno-Soukous, joining me for my entire set? It's a significant challenge, but we're thrilled to take it on. Uganda, get ready for an electrifying experience. Please come and support your own, and witness an unprecedented spectacle on the Ugandan stage."
