Kadongo Kamu singer Gerald Kiweewa's energy excited revellers at Tugende Mu Kikadde at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

He came on stage at 9:00pm in a wheelchair with bandages wrapped around his legs and hands, supported by his son and a woman after the injuries he had sustained during the week.

Despite all this however, having been the first artiste to perfom after Janzi Band, Kiweewa set the ground running for what would later be a great show.

His great catalogue of old songs like Gundi Okuzze, Eggali Ekozeko, Banjagaliza Mwagalize excited the audience.

Being knowned for interacting with the audience, Kiweewa was seen trying to get off the wheelchair, but he couldn’t help himself and so only had to be moved around the stage in the wheelchair.

Kiweewa asked for a guitar to play during his perfomance and this made some in the audience a little concerned because the hand he used to use to play it had a medical drip.

However, it turned out to be even a great performance all together in that even those that had fears were seen enjoying with smiles on their face. Revellers would later give him money to help offset his hospital bills.

Veteran singing duo Ngoni having been off any stage in Uganda had many people eagerly waiting for them and shortly after them performing a few songs including Nakupenda and Bigula, revellers started asking them for certainly their most famous song of Ndi ku Ddigi.

One could see how they missed the Ugandan stage as they were all very happy during their performance, they even promised to get back in 2024.

And just when they sang Ndi ku Digi, some of the revellers left the hall but they would miss out on Mariam Ndagire and Sophie Nantongo’s super perfomances that even got The Honorary Consul of Namibia to Uganda Godfrey Kirumira and his wife on their feet to enjoy some dance moves.

The executive director-elect of the Uganda Communications Commision, Nyombi Tembo, was amongst those in the audience.

Other that perfomed included Pheobe Nassolo, Queen Florence and Qute Kaye with actor Dr. Bbosa having done an incredible job mceeing the event.
