The 20th edition of Roast and Rhyme, with the theme "Reggae Ragga Nyam Nyam," unfolded at Jahazi Pier Munyonyo, delivering an unforgettable fusion of music, food, and a vibrant atmosphere, all curated by Swangz Avenue.
What set this edition apart was the revival of the communal experience. Attendees brought their own grills and meat to roast by the lakeside, reviving a nostalgic tradition that added a special touch to the event. This fostered a sense of camaraderie and community spirit, bringing people together in a unique and nostalgic way.
The event also took a moment to honour the late Peter Morgan from the Jamaican reggae group Morgan Heritage, who passed away at the end of February. The energy was high as revellers danced to the music of Morgan Heritage, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere in tribute to the late reggae icon.
One of the highlights of the event was the surprise collaboration between King Michael and Jose Chameleone, adding an unexpected and electrifying twist to the festivities. This collaboration showcased the spontaneity and magic that Roast and Rhyme has become known for, delighting the audience with an unforgettable musical experience.
The event featured a lineup of diverse performers, including Mark Da Urban, Abeeka Band, Double Black Band, Vyper Ranking, King Micheal, and Cindy Sanyu with Buzz Events on the production and hospitality experience, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable event for all attendees.
Once again, Swangz Avenue demonstrated their event organizing prowess, creating an experience that will linger in the memories of attendees for a long time.
