Singer Maurice Kirya has stated that he is making good money out of the industry through creative ways such as the use of new technology and embracing a lifestyle that resonates with his fans.
"I am a different person when it comes to music planning. I enjoy the way I implement my plans. I treat my fans well and they treat me back well in return with money. I do not use a car around town. I am always walking on Kampala streets with my headsets on as I am going in town for shopping. I normally use a bodaboda to make my life easy and to make my fans feel that we are the same," Kirya said.
The Never Been Loved singer said he advertises for the shortest period of time, but his fans turn up in big numbers.
"I use very small budget for my shows and make a lot of returns. I do not advertise my concerts by use of media. I keep my fan base in one common social community, where we all communicate and agree on one thing. My shows are always paid a year ahead before they happen. My fans pay for the show before they happen. My team and I created a Maurice Kirya Fans' Club, where we have a big WhatsApp group with 2,000 members. Each member pays sh250,000 every year and that money is for the concert. These fans of mine pay in advance as they wait for the concert to happen. In my WhatsApp group, we have people of my music audience only and the membership is sh250,000 per person which is paid once a year. These people within the group have got membership cards so they do not pay for my concert as they happen. My concert tables and tickets are sold within that same group. Our advertisements all happen in that same group, which makes my work easy. I move with my fans in my phone. You will never see my stressing for concerts like other fellow artistes do," Kirya said.
He made the remarks in an interview on June 25, 2024.
Kirya boasted that he since he joined music, he has been making successful concerts and shows only in the most expensive venues such as the Kampala Serena Hotel and the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
Kirya last had a concert at the Kampala Serena Hotel in September 2023.
