Kenya's Victoria Kimani to share stage with Blu 3 at reunion concert

On June 22, Kenyan Afrobeats star Victoria Kimani will share the stage with the Beautiful Ladies from Uganda (Blu 3), at their reunion concert dubbed Legends of Sound at the Sheraton Hotel, Kampala. 

Despite being somewhat less active on the music scene in the last few years, Kimani has, for the 12 years been a force to reckon with, musically, in East Africa, with hit singles such as Booty Bounce, Show, China Love, Prokoto, and her recent release - Inconsistent.

She started her career shortly after the Blu 3 trio went their separate ways in 2008.

In a press statement confirming her presence at the concert, released today, June 17, Kimani expressed her excitement to be part of the artiste lineup. 

"I have long admired the artistry and influence of Blu 3, of Lillian (Mbabazi), Jackie (Chandiru), and Cindy (Sanyu). To be invited to join them for this historic reunion is a true honour. Together, we'll create a musical experience that will leave Uganda in awe," she said.

With Chandiru and Cindy's stage-shaking energy, perhaps Kimani will have a long night trying to match the same. 

Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Talent Africa, Aly Allibhai said: "We are thrilled to welcome Victoria Kimani as  special guest performer at the Blu 3 reunion. Her vocals and stage presence will perfectly complement the iconic sound of Blu 3."

While the concert comes off as an all-female affair, with the addition of Kimani, Blu 3's Chandiru, during a press conference, last week, at Sheraton Hotel, Kampala, promised fans a blend of various musicians that they collaborated with in the past.
