The sixth season of the My Great Price conference, held on June 15, 2024, at Kololo Independence Grounds, was a resounding success.

This annual women's conference, organised by Phaneroo Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Grace Lubega, drew thousands of women not only from various parts of Uganda, but also from different corners of the globe.

The theme of this year's gathering, Igniting Women to Pray, resonated deeply with the attendees, creating an atmosphere of spiritual fervour and unity.

The conference began with early attendees engaging in a variety of games such as kwepena, ludo, chess, and rope skipping.

By 9:00am, the place was already filled with eager women.

Lubega emphasised the importance of earnest prayer among women.

"There are many women who know how to pray, but we are looking for women who pray and hunger to pray," he said. This call to deepen their spiritual practice fit with the audience, many of whom were eager to enhance their prayer lives.

The conference was graced by Racheal Ruto, the First Lady of Kenya, who served as the guest of honour and main preacher.

Her presence added a significant layer of prestige to the event. She greeted the assembly with a resounding "Bwana asifiwe" (Praise the Lord), which was met with an equally enthusiastic response of asifiwe bwana from the women.

Mrs Rutos' speech was filled with gratitude and encouragement, acknowledging the vibrant faith of the attendees and urging them to continue being steadfast in their spiritual journey.

She relayed greetings from the president of Kenya, William Ruto and expressed their prayers for Uganda.

"When we pray for our nation, we also pray for our neighbours, the Pearl of Africa,” Mrs Ruto said.

She also shared a moment of fellowship with Uganda's First Lady, Janet Museveni, commending her faith and commitment to prayer for her nation.

In her sermon, titled Beautiful But Barren, Mrs Ruto drew parallels between the Biblical characters Sarah, Rebecca, and Rachel, whose beauty was undeniable yet who faced the challenge of barrenness. She related these stories to a Kenyan woman named Fulaha, who, despite her not having shoes on, experienced a transformative change through prayer.

"I want to tell you that it is prayer that changed their situation. Women, pray," Mrs Ruto emphasised, encouraging the attendees to embrace the power of prayer in their own lives.

Following the sermon, Nigerian gospel artiste Mercy Chinwo took the stage, captivating the audience with her powerful worship songs. She began with Too Many Reasons, a heartfelt worship song that resonated deeply with the crowd.

Her performance included a mix of languages, such as Luganda with Fuga Yesu Fuga (Reign, Jesus, Reign), and her popular hit Excess Love. The audience was moved to worship and dance, visibly touched by the music and the message of gratitude and faith.

The conference also featured other prominent gospel artistes, including Florence Mureithi, who led a profound worship session that deeply impacted the attendees. The presence of these artistes and their heartfelt performances added to the spiritual depth and joy of the event.

My Great Price season six was more than just a conference; it was a celebration of faith, prayer, and unity among women from diverse backgrounds. The event successfully ignited a renewed passion for prayer among the attendees, leaving them spiritually uplifted and inspired.

Under the guidance of  Lubega and with the support of influential figures like Mrs Ruto, the conference has cemented its place as a cornerstone of spiritual growth and empowerment for women worldwide.
