"We are also investigating a related case of simple robbery and assault targeting Dr. Matovu Zaidi, Muyanda Anthony, and Odongo Alex, security guards employed at Nsambya Hospital," stated Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
Assistant Commissioner for Police (ACP) Rusoke Kituuma, spokesperson for the Uganda Police Force, confirmed that a complaint has been received and the matter is under active investigation.
"The police have responded and taken over the matter because there are people who claim to have been assaulted," Rusoke said, noting that the police are treating it as a crime issue.
Popular singer Alien Skin is under scrutiny for allegedly assaulting two security guards and a medical doctor at Nsambya Hospital. Following the altercation, the three victims are hospitalized with injuries sustained during the scuffle.
The fight erupted over a patient identified as Joram Tumwesigye, who was associated with Alien Skin’s gang. The fracas was triggered by Tumwesigye’s untimely death shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
Netizens have taken to social media, particularly Twitter (X), sharing videos of the incident. In the videos, members of Alien Skin’s group are seen storming the hospital reception, demanding the body of their deceased crew member. One medic was forcefully shoved to the ground as the group attempted to locate the body.
When contacted, Nsambya Hospital management confirmed the incident but declined to provide further details due to patient confidentiality policies.
