Friday night, May 17, at Roza Dymz lounge in Kololo, was one to savour, especially for avid lovers of up-tempo Afrobeats music with a touch of piano.
The Deejay-only night, dubbed Big Bang Friday, saw the crowd usher in the weekend in style, and welcome Roza Dymz, a new bar in town, with oomph and delight.
The evening kicked off as early as 6:00 pm , with the gentlemen looking suave and the ladies looking gorgeously dressed for the evening.

Listening to a slow but gradually rising tempo of music, the guests were treated to drinks, cocktails by immaculately dressed bar tenders. The food, too, was a perfect precursor to an energetic night. Those who were ready to get the dance busy, indeed, needed that food. And the chefs did justice to the menu, which had a selection of gourmet dishes that satisfied adventurous diners or those who were looking for a quick bite with familiar favourites.
As we approached the thick of the night, when all conversations were over, DJ Vee took to the turntables to give the crowd exactly what they had come for. From club bangers to lesser-known songs, Vee was undoubtedly ready for the night
Vee would take turns with DJ Tony, who understood the young crowd's energy to the letter. With every scratch, mix and interlude, Tony was almost the man of the hour.
The energy levels would soon be hit to unmatched heights when Selector Jeff hit the stage to take over the decks. Jeff would also play some of his music featuring top Kampala musicians like Uga Boyz, Spice Diana and John Blaq, among others.
By 2:00am, it was safe to say that the crowd had gotten their money's worth.
