Dance group the Triplets Ghetto Kids have once again stamped their feet on their spot as one of Uganda’s best entertainment exports after a display of extreme verve on the stage of America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League on Monday, January 22.
Draped in African print-inspired outfits, they twirled, wiggled their waists, and danced, all part of a complex dance routine, evoking all kinds of emotions from judges Melanie Brown (Mel B) and Simon Cowell; half of four judges with fantasy league teams competing for $250,000 (about sh900m).
Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel are the other two judges.
Out of the 40 acts selected from across the globe, each has a team of 10 acts selected by each judge who mentors them throughout the competition.
The Ghetto Kids, Musa Motha, Anna deGuzman, Aidan Bryant and Darci Lynne made it to Top 5 of the night. Sainted Choir received a golden buzzer from Heidi Klum last week sending them straight to the finale.
Eliminated contestants were Brian Justin Crum, Cillian O’Connor, The Clairoyants, and Travis Japan.
On their socials, the Ghetto Kids wrote: “We set the stage on fire with our electrifying performance! Thank you @AGT @AGTAuditions Africa to the world.”
The Ghetto Kids participated in Season 16 of Britain’s Got Talent in 2023 and emerged sixth, the reason they were selected among other winners and finalists from Got Talent franchises to take part in the fantasy league.
