Bukedde Radio's DJ Ssebwato has revealed that season two of his Ekikadde Mu Binyaanya is going to bring back memories of ekikadde (oldies music) into people's minds.
Ebinyanyanyanya is a sub-genre characterised by a faster tempo and sound effects such as squealing and bleating. Ekikadde Mu Binyaanya combines oldies music with Ebinyanyanyanya.
At a press conference held at Vision Group offices in Industrial Area, Kampala on Tuesday, June 18, Ssebwato, born Julius Ssebwato, credited his parents for his love for oldies music.
"Growing up, my parents always played a cassette tape of oldies music by Paul Kafeero and Philly Bongole Lutaaya, which had educational messages, so this inspired me until I began my journey as a DJ specialising in Ekikadde mu Binyaanya," he said.
The show is scheduled to take place at Nabweru Playgrounds in Nansana, Wakiso on June 22, 2024. Entrance is sh10,000 (ordinary), sh20,000 (VIP) and sh500k VVIP.
Ssebwato also thanked his Bukedde TV workmates Ssuuna Ben and Tony Mbaziira for nurturing him into the best DJ of Ekikadde mu Binyaanya.
"Ssuuna Ben and Tony Mbaziira taught me Ebinyaanya and I am grateful to them," he said.
Ssuna Ben and Mbaziira called upon lovers of ebinyaanya to support Sebwato during his show.
Ssebwato held his first Ekikadde mu Binyaanya show at Nabweru Playgrounds in Nansana, Wakiso.
