A concert that faded singer Yung Mulo had organised to announce his comeback on July 22 has flopped.

The artiste, real name Kassim Lubega, grew up in Zzana, Entebbe Road and by staging his concert dubbed The Best of Yung Mulo, at Chunchuz Auto Spa, which is in the same area, he assumed ‘his’ people would turn up in droves.

It ended in tears.

Entrance was 10k (ordinary), VIP 50k and VVIP 500k .

By 9:30pm, the seats were still empty. The organisers hatched a plan to go to the roadside and give out free tickets.

They cooked up a story, saying a rich fan of Yung Mulo had bought 200 tickets for other fans. The tickets were given out by Bobi Younger, a supporter of National Unity Platform, who kept urging passers by not to let down Yung Mulo.

It was at around 10:00pm that people started arriving, courtesy of the free tickets.

Among the musicians that supported Yung Mulo were Newyork, King Michael and Soft Chali .

According to Sophie Nakito, a guest, people were scared to attend the event because of the thieves who had surrounded the venue.

She added that were also a lot of drugs being used.

“That’s why my friends didn’t show up. I only came with entrance money and transport. I left my phone at home fearing the thieves,” she said.
