Who Killed Captain Alex?, Uganda's highly acclaimed action movie, is set to make a comeback with a sequel, and the shooting is expected to be completed this year, according to producer Isaac Nabwana.

The blockbuster, which gained global attention since its release in 2010, has been in the spotlight since Nabwana announced the commencement of shooting last year.

Addressing concerns about the time taken for the shooting, Nabwana explained that the production team is dedicated to delivering the best for the global audience eagerly awaiting the sequel. Despite the extended timeline, he reassured that the project is on track to be completed within the year.

"With global anticipation, we have to deliver our best. Taking time allows us to ensure good production and post-production. While we are still in the shooting phase, we are optimistic that it will be completed this year," Nabwana expressed.

Notably, the shooting has taken place on Lunkulu Island, situated on Lake Victoria, the third-largest lake globally. The addition of new names, including Tony Lutakome Kayanja, Florence Nantongo, Ronald Magezi, among others, is expected to enhance the sequel's entertainment value.

The original film, Who Killed Captain Alex? was produced with a modest budget of around $100 but achieved significant global success, making it Uganda's most viewed action film. The cast includes Ernest Sserunya, William Kakule, Muhammad Kavuma, Isma Kasumba, Swaib Ssenkungu, and others.

As the shooting progresses for the sequel, expectations are high for another cinematic success from Uganda's film industry.
