ARUA - Arua Regional Referral Hospital has received a donation of a new ICT hub from the Health Service Commission.

It is hoped that the hub will aid in the recruitment of health workers and solve other technology-related challenges.

The hub, which is located on the first floor of the hospital out-patient department building, is said to benefit the health workers from the eight districts in West Nile region to reduce expenses being incurred by the health workers to deliver applications to the commission.

While handing over the hub and its equipment on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, Health Service Commission chairperson Dr Pius Okong said the online recruitment challenge will now be history.

According to Dr Ian Assimwe, the acting director Arua Regional Referral Hospital, the hub is not limited only to the staff of Arua Regional Referral Hospital.

He encouraged other health workers to make good of the hub which is free of charge.

Anite Joyce, a senior nursing officer at the hospital, said she is delighted to see the hospital equipped with an ICT hub.

According to her, apart from supporting the health professionals when applying for the Health Service Commission jobs, the hub will provide support to them in carrying out research.
