Aspiring top Public Health Professionals looking to widen their scope of operation and acquire more knowledge have been urged to apply for the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Short-term Bioinformatics Fellowship Training Program 2025.
The Africa CDC Pathogen Genomics Initiative (Africa PGI), under the Centre for Laboratory Diagnostics and Systems, is pleased to announce 100 short-term fellowships for national public health laboratories and affiliated institutions in African Union Member States.
This fellowship program is part of Africa CDC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and expand the bioinformatics workforce across the continent.
The fellowship program aims to enhance the bioinformatics capacity of public health practitioners in Africa through intensive short courses, enabling them to effectively analyze and interpret genomic data for public health decision-making.
Eligibility
• Public health practitioners from national public health institutions and national reference labs in African Union member states.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g molecular biology, medical bioscience)
• Demonstrated interest and experience in bioinformatics and public health
• Below 35 Years of age
