KATAKWI - In a promising development for the residents of Toroma County in Katakwi district, the Government has unveiled plans to renovate the dilapidated Toroma Health Centre IV.
The facility has faced significant challenges with inadequate infrastructure, staffing, and access to essential medications since its upgrade from Health Centre III to IV a few years ago.
Joseph Andrew Koluo, the Member of Parliament for Toroma County, shared that while the funding details are yet to be disclosed, the plans include establishment of a surgical theatre and two houses for medical staff.
Additionally, efforts are being made to improve the current borehole to ensure a reliable water supply for the health facility, along with plans to secure the premises with fencing, as per Koluo's statements.
It’s worth noting that Toroma Health Centre III transitioned to Health Centre IV in recent years, highlighting the ongoing commitment to improving healthcare in the region.
