The Buliisa district health department has asked parents to embrace malaria vaccination for their children; which was incorporated in the routine immunisation schedule.

Buliisa health educator Robert Mugabe says, although the exercise commenced last month in all vaccination outreaches, many parents are yet to embrace it.

The health expert appealed to the parents to take their children aged six to 18 months for vaccination to reduce the costs incurred at the facility for malaria treatment.

He also urged them to embrace preventive measures against malaria like sleeping under mosquito nets, closing windows and doors before sunset and slashing nearby bushes.

Last Month, the Government rolled out a national malaria vaccination campaign, with the official launch that was held in Apac district, which has the highest malaria burden in the country.
