WAKISO - President Yoweri Museveni has congratulated the organisers of the National Prayer Breakfast meeting and asked them to keep up the spirit.
He said the National Resistance Movement (NRM) managed to succeed in the bush war that took place between 1981 and 1986 because they brought all religious faiths on board, adding that the spirit of religious sectarianism and divisionism should be discouraged.
He gave the example of early missionaries who divided people on religious backgrounds.
The president was on October 08, 2024, speaking at the 26th Annual National Prayer Breakfast, which takes place every year before independence and was organized at State House, Entebbe.

The theme of the day was, “If the foundations are destroyed what can the righteous do-Psalm 11:3".
The purpose of the national prayer breakfast fellowship is to give the nation that spiritual strength which is available to those who ask for it, renew and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood with the faithful across the country and around the world.
The other purpose is to give people the opportunity to ask God’s guidance as well as express their gratitude for what God has given them and recognise Jesus as their common ground.
