The chairperson of the Uganda Kings and Cultural Leaders Forum, also the cultural leader or Isabaruuli of Buruuli, Isabarongo Mwatansozi Mwogezi Butamanya, is slated to pay a historic royal visit to the King of Alur, Philip Olarker Rauni III, this Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

During his one-day visit, Isabaruuli Mwogezi will hold a one-on-one meeting with Ubimu Rauni III at his royal court in Dye-Winam, Atyak.

The visit is part of Isabaruuli Mwogezi’s countrywide tour of the 17 gazetted cultural leaders to, among other things, discuss a partnership for socio-economic transformation with an international non-governmental organization, Global Peace Initiative/Family Peace Association.

This visit will be followed by a press conference and an address to Ker Alur Chiefs and their spouses, the Prime Minister, and specially invited women leaders.

In another effort towards fostering unity among Luo-speaking communities, the Acholi Paramount Chief, Rwoth David Onen Acana II, paid a royal visit to the Alur Kingdom earlier this month.

The visit, aimed at advancing the Luo Union agenda, was marked by a symbolic welcome at Pakwach Gate, Wanglei Historical Site, where the legendary brothers Gipir and Labongo parted ways centuries ago.

The delegation then proceeded to the Alur King’s palace in Atyak, Zombo district, where cultural leaders and dignitaries gathered to witness this significant occasion.
