KAMPALA - Talk of the hunter becoming the hunted. This is what retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Sam Omala has said he is going through.

Omala has told Journalists that his life is in danger and if Police do not urgently come to his rescue, his contemplating running out of the country.

Omala said his trouble started when he rejected a bribe of sh50m from two people who were arrested for stealing tractors that were destined for Rwanda.

The tractors were reportedly imported by Chinese whom he declined to mention. The case was reported to the Hongman Security Company where Omala is currently a managing director.

The individuals reportedly wanted Omala to get out of the case although the tractors were later recovered from them.

“In this country, fighting corruption is very difficult and if you do, you become the target. I am now the target. I am scared for my life. I have written to the IGP but nothing has been done. I keep receiving messages from people threatening my life because I refused a bribe,” he told Journalists at Centenary Park Park.

Omala said he has since written to the High Command for intervention.
