Bunyoro Kitara Dioceses gets more reverends, deacons

HOIMA - Bunyoro Kitara Diocese Bishop Jacob Ateirweho on Sunday, December 8, 2024, for the first time during his reign ordained 13 priests and 14 deacons at St Peter’s Cathedral Duhaga in Hoima city.

The 14 deacons studied at the theological colleges of Bishop Ruhindi Theological College in Hoima, Uganda Martyrs' Seminary, Namugongo in Kampala and the Uganda Christian University in Mukono.

Some ordained priests, include the Rev. Lydia Faith Ahuura, Rev. Moses Baroho, and Rev. Jackson Alinaitwe.

Others are Rev. Micheal Byamukama, Rev. Brian Gumisiriza and Rev. Annet Wembabazi.
Bishop Ateirweho asked the newly ordained priests and deacons to exhibit good discipline and be exemplary while offering their services.

Rev. Moses Mpebwa Abwooli from Kigaaya archdeaconry, one of the ordained deacons, said he is going to use the title to save people who haven’t known Jesus Christ through preaching the gospel.
