A woman accused of involvement in the murder of an 11-year-old girl has been remanded to Kiboga Prisons.

Nakyeyune Madinah along with other suspects still at large, is accused of involvement in the ritual killing of Oliver Namaganda, a resident of Buzibweera LC1, and a pupil at Fairway Nursery and Primary School in Kiboga.

She is suspected of killing Namaganda on June 12, 2024, in Kirulumba village, Kirulumba parish, in Kiboga Town Council while she was selling maize.

Nakyeyune was arrested after a sniffer dog led authorities to her shrine in Kirulumba ward, Kiboga town council, on Tuesday.

Parts of Namaganda's body were discovered in Kirulumba, while other parts are still missing.

Susan Luwanga, the Kirulumba LC1 chairperson, has called upon parents to stop allowing their children to move at night.

Henry Kagali, the LC3 chairperson of Kiboga Town Council, has threatened to arrest parents who involve their children in child labour, in accordance with the town council by-laws on child labour.

He stated that the town council enforcement immediately started impounding all items found with young children hawking within the town.

Kagali also mentioned that the police, in a joint effort with local leaders, have managed to arrest another suspect.

Appearing before the Kiboga Magistrate Court, presided over by Namazi Jackline, Nakyeyune was remanded until July 5, 2024.
