COVID-19: Married couples urged to stop fighting at home

KAMPALA - Busoga Diocese Bishop, Paul Naimanhye has tasked married couples to stop fights and words exchanges at home if their marriage is to stay longer.

Bishop Naimanhye revealed this during his sermon at St Paul's Cathedral, Namirembe in Kampala on Sunday during a scientific service for the annual diocesan convention.

"Try to sit down as a couple and solve those problems you're facing in your marriage rather than fighting, Fights can claim your life and  may end your marriage," Naimanhye said, adding that what the couple feels impossible, is possible before God.

 Naimanhye also cautioned Christians against losing hope but instead put their trust in God.

 "I notice that some of you have lost hope due to the lockdown we earlier had, but be patient for God who has given us life to date still exists," he added.

 Namirembe diocese Mission Secretary, Rev Samuel Muwonge said conventions have transformed people's lives spiritually, economically and socially.

"We don't only focus on preaching the word of God, but we also sensitise people on how to work to change their lives," Muwonge added.

 Among the people who graced the convention was the Lands Minister, Betty Kamya, and not more than 10 people were allowed in the Cathedral so as to observe the Ministry of Health's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), aimed at curbing the COVI-19 pandemic.
