AMURU - Eight people have been assaulted during a scuffle over a piece of land in Pacilo East Village, Atiak sub-county in Amuru district.
The incident that took place at around 2:30am on February 14, 2025, left James Ocaya, Jessica Andoa, Scovia Ayaa, Emasculate Manzira, Moses Ogwang, Joel Candano, Samuel Ojara, and Geoffrey Rom, with multiple injuries.
According to Police reports, the victims: Residents and non-residents of the area, were attacked by a group of 20 people led by Joseph Otema and two others only identified as Lagu and Tabi from the Pacilo clan.
Armed with clubs, machetes, axes, as well as bows and arrows, Police said the suspects attacked the victims who were harvesting cassava and building huts in the piece of land, a case of malicious damage and assault being investigated under Amuru CRB 09/2025.
Aswa West region Police spokesperson David Mudong Ongom said Police visited and documented the crime scene and that the victims were taken to St Philips Medical Care in Atiaik Town Council for treatment.
According to him Police are hunting the suspects behind the attack.
