Kainembabazi crowned Miss Bunyoro

Kainembabazi walked away with a prize of shillings one million and all the six contestants received gift hampers from Movit.

HOIMA - Comfort Kainembabazi Abooki, 21, has been crowned Miss Bunyoro for 2024/25.

Hoima city resident Kainembabazi, a bachelor of library and information science student at Makerere University, was crowned on Sunday, December 1, 2024, morning after beating six other contestants at the grand finale held at HB Hotel in Hoima city.

Swabrah Katusiime Abooki, 22, from Masindi, was the first runner-up, and Blessed Alice Atusinguza, 25, from Hoima City, was the second runner-up.



Kainembabazi walked away with a prize of shillings one million and all the six contestants received gift hampers from Movit.

Kainembabazi said that she plans to use the position attained to advocate for all inconsistencies in the kingdom.

“I believe true leadership comes from God. This crown is a tool of power and I promise to use this crown to address inconsistency in the Kingdom affecting the Girl child” said Kembabazi.

Aggrey Valen Rwahwire, the chief executive officer of the Miss Bunyoro Foundation, said the newly crowned queen will have a task of uniting all diverse tribes in Bunyoro.

“Our strength as Bunyoro lies in different tribes that is why this year we had a theme of Unity in diversity. My appeal to you Comfort is to promote unity regardless of which tribe you are coming from” Rwahwire said.

Bunyoro Kitara kingdom prime minister Andrew Byakutaaga, who was represented by Kingdom chief administrative secretary  Alex Katusabe pledged more support to such competitions which aim at developing the kingdom.

“The competition is great because it promotes unity in the kingdom. We all need one another to develop the kingdom. I pledge on behalf of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom that we shall continue supporting such competitions” assured Katusabe.
