President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will deliver his end-of-year address to the nation on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 8:00 pm.
In a statement dated December 30, 2024, the Presidential Press Unit (PPU) announced that Museveni’s address to the nation will start at 8:00 pm.
It will be broadcast live on all radio and television stations, as well as online platforms. The public is encouraged to tune in.
“Museveni, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, will deliver his end-of-year address to the nation on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 8:00 pm,” the press team said.
The address, announced by the Presidential Press Unit (PPU), is expected to touch on the government's achievements, challenges, and plans for the coming year.
Museveni spent the Christmas holiday with his family at his country home in Rwakitura, located in Uganda’s western district of Kiruhura.
In his Christmas message to Ugandans, Museveni commended the nation for its resilience and thanked God for keeping many safe amidst the year's challenges.
He acknowledged the tragedies that marred 2024, including the Kiteezi incident and Bulambuli floods, which resulted in loss of life and property, and mourned those lost.
The landfill collapse at Kiteezi led to 35 fatalities and widespread destruction of property.
Museveni emphasised his commitment to agricultural productivity and responsible stewardship.
Meanwhile President Museveni today Monday, received a special message from Mohamed Al-Menfi, the President of the Presidential Council of Libya.
