KAMPALA - The First Lady, Janet Kataha Museveni, also the Minister of Education and Sports, on Friday (November 22, 2024) officially opened the new shillings 28 billion Bible House building, highlighting the significance of Bible Society's mission to translate and distribute the word of God.
Mrs Museveni, who was also the chief guest at the ceremony along Bombo Road in Kampala, called upon parents to cherish and instil a love of culture among their children.
Prominent church leaders, including Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu and Metropolitan Jeronymos Muzeeyi, leader of the Orthodox Church in Uganda, among others attended the event.
Government officials, such as Minister of Energy and Mineral Development Ruth Nankabirwa and Finance Minister Matia Kasaija, also attended, alongside representatives from the government and members of the Bible society.
