AMURU - The Uganda Police Force's Flying Squad Unit has successfully responded to a violent robbery and homicide incident that occurred in Amuru district.
According to police, a group of assailants attacked a mobile money operator, fatally shooting the victim and fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.
Following a prompt investigation, the Flying Squad carried out extensive inquiries, leading to the arrest of key suspects involved in the incident.
During interrogation, the suspects revealed the identities of their associates believed to be hiding in Moyo district, and provided information on the location of the firearm and ammunition used in the attack.
Subsequently, the Moyo district police commander, alongside a team from the Flying Squad, apprehended additional suspects and recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine containing three rounds of ammunition, and other relevant items.
According to West Nile Police spokesperson Collins Asea, the suspects and exhibits were transported back to Amuru district for further investigation and processing.
Asea reaffirmed the Uganda Police Force's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
