Three people have perished in a car crash on the Masindi-Kafu road.
The Thursday, May 8, 2025, crash happened at about 6:00 am at Nyabinyira village, Bigando ward, Kigulya Division in Masindi municipality.
The deceased have been identified as Fenda Ahisibwe, 30; Olivia Tumwesigye and Rose. The fourth victim, only identified as Brenda, is admitted to Masindi Hospital in critical condition.
Godfrey Wobusozi, a resident of Kimengo sub-county, told Kabalega FM that they were contacted about the accident at around 7:00 am and upon identification, they were their own.
Eriya Tumusiime, Ahisibwe’s young brother, said the crash happened while they were heading to Kisalazi Market.
According to Tumusiime, two people died on the spot, while the third died on arrival at the hospital.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Police region spokesperson, said there was a head-on collision between a motorcycle (UMA 799BD) and a vehicle (UBE 172F) being driven by Robinah Birungi.
He said investigations are ongoing to ascertain the main cause of an accident.
