In the eerie silence of early morning, death crept into Katosi. At around 4:02am on May 1, 2025, Chard Energy fuel Station in Mukono District became the scene of a brutal and calculated robbery that left two security guards dead.

Deo Senabulya, 50, and Joseph Onyaiti, just 25, were on night duty when two unidentified assailants stormed the station.

According to police reports, the suspects allegedly armed with blunt weapons struck swiftly, catching the guards off guard.

The two security guards are said to have died following a cold-blooded assault.

In a statement issued by the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, the attackers then seized the guards’ firearm, which contained five live rounds.

They are said to have turned the same weapon on the station’s pump attendants Jovita Tessa, 23, and Kevin Domanye, 22, whom they robbed of their mobile phones and an estimated sh3 million in cash.

Onyango said the attackers disappeared into the night, leaving the stolen rifle abandoned near a railway line.

It was later recovered by responding officers.

He said the detectives from the Kampala Metropolitan Police cordoned off the scene, collected forensic evidence, and transported the victims’ bodies to Mulago Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

He said the hunt for the killer is underway.
