The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) put up a thrilling show at the inaugural Interforces Drill Competition.

The showcase is being held at the Bombo Military Barracks stadium.

On display were meticulously choreographed individual and team drill routines, synchronization, formation changes, an inter-service championship, and various activities.

The soldiers were pristinely dressed in ceremonial garb, with matching white socks.

The singular mission is to honour the spirit of unity, discipline, and teamwork.

The event is being hosted by Lt Gen. Sam Okiding, the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), who is representing the CDF, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The main objective of the 2025 interforces competition is to promote excellence and precision in military skills. This exercise will become an annual event.

The competition includes demonstrations of sword drill, saluting, and changing a cane stick, as well as turning with it at a halt.

Additionally, it features changing the cane stick at a halt in all positions, foot drill, and band demonstrations.

The event is being attended by high-ranking officials, including generals, service chiefs, commanders, and others.

Crane Performers and the UPDF Cultural troupe put up a breathtaking entertainment ensemble that kept the guests cheerful.

The deputy CDF arrived at 10:55 am and was received by the UPDF Commander of the Joint Staff Brigade, Bombo, Lt Gen. Lucky Joseph Kidega.

Shortly after, he inspected the guard of honour at the parade grounds and then proceeded to Bombo Military Barracks grounds for the inaugural competition.
