Vision Group throws weight behind Mothers Union House project

KAMPALA - Multimedia company Vision Group has partnered with the Mothers Union of Namirembe Diocese in a fundraising drive to support the completion of the Mothers’ Union House, which is currently under construction.

The collaboration will boost the upcoming Mothers’ Union Marathon, scheduled for June 7 this year. The marathon aims to raise sh400 million towards the project.

Speaking during a partnership meeting at the Vision Group head offices in Kampala on Tuesday, CEO and managing director Don Wanyama said the initiative is one of many partnerships the multimedia company has undertaken with the Church of Uganda, and they are proud to contribute to such a meaningful cause.

Vision Group Editor-in-Chief Barbara Kaija praised the Mothers Union for its impactful work across Uganda and encouraged Vision Group clients and the wider public to turn out in large numbers to support the marathon and contribute to the completion of the Mothers Union House.

“We have partnered with Mothers Union because we know what it does and the importance of family to our country,” she said.

Kaija voiced Vision Group’s full commitment towards supporting the upcoming marathon.

She explained that the overall construction cost of the Mothers Union House is projected at sh10 billion. The current phase of construction requires sh400 million, which they hope to raise through the upcoming marathon.

“Marathon kits are available at sh25,000," said Biingi.

"We call upon everyone to participate in the run and support us in securing a permanent home for our union. You can buy many kits or give us money as financial donations."

Mothers Union is a Christian charity established in Uganda in 1908 with over 3,000 members spread across more than 335 churches in Namirembe Diocese.
