The Chrism Mass is a significant liturgical event in the Catholic calendar, typically held during Holy Week—either on Holy Thursday or on the Tuesday of Holy Week, depending on tradition. It is observed by Roman Catholic, Anglican, and some Eastern Orthodox churches.

During the Chrism Mass, bishops bless the holy oils used in sacraments throughout the year, including the Oil of Catechumens, the Oil of the Sick, and the Sacred Chrism.

Priests and deacons from the diocese use the occasion to renew their priestly promises, reflect on their vocation, and reaffirm their commitment to ministry.

Bishop Joseph Eciru Oliach led the Mass.

"We call upon you to be praying for us your priests," said Fr. Lawrence Akepa during the opening of the Mass.

The Mass was animated by the Directorate of Sacred Music from Orungo Deanery.

Soroti Catholic Diocese comprises the eleven districts that make up the Teso sub-region.
