Nandi-Ndaitwah is Namibia's incumbent vice-president and the president of the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO), a political party and former independence movement in the country.
She won the presidential election in December 2024 with 57.31% of the vote, beating 14 rivals.
Her victory extended SWAPO’s rule in Namibia since gaining independence from Germany in 1990.
Nandi-Ndaitwah is set to succeed Dr Nangolo Mbumba, who has served as interim president for a year since the death of the third President, Hage Geingob, in February last year.
