The wait is over. 

The Uganda Silverbacks know where their journey at Afrobasket 2025 starts.

And let's say, it will not be an easy ride out of the gates.

Uganda were pooled alongside Egypt, Senegal, and Mali during Friday's Afrobasket draws held in Luanda, Angola, the tournament hosts.

Uganda reached the quarterfinals at their last  Afrobasket appearance in 2021, and will need to be at their best to stand a chance of replicating that performance.

Uganda qualified as the best team to finish outside the automatic qualification slots, and will take comfort from the fact that all 16 teams at Afrobasket are already assured of reaching the knockout stage.

What matters at the preliminary knockout round is to finish as high as possible in your group in order to secure a favourable opponent in the round of 16.
