Farida Bulega, head coach of Amus College WFC, described her side’s 1-1 draw against Kawempe Muslim School as one of the toughest games they have faced since joining the 2024-2025 Finance Trust Bank Women’s Super League.

Amus College WFC, buoyed by overwhelming support from the home crowd, managed to secure a point against Kawempe Muslim School WFC in a fully packed ground at Amus College football grounds.

“We have played a number of games since we joined the Finance Trust Bank Women’s Super League, but if we rate our game against Kawempe Muslim, it has been the hardest one on us,” said Bulega.

According to Bulega, earning a point from a five-time league champion was no easy task, given Kawempe’s extensive experience in the league.

Amus College struck first with a crucial goal by Esther Namataka, who found the net just before halftime in the 45th minute, putting the home side in the lead. Kawempe Muslim fought back in the second half, and with time running out, they were saved by an unfortunate own goal from Amus College’s Amiya Jazira in the 88th minute. The late equalizer salvaged a point for Kawempe, allowing them to maintain their unbeaten record and stay on top of the league table with 13 points.

However, Amus College WFC slipped to third place in the league standings, now with eight points, as Kampala Queens moved up to second with nine points after defeating Rines WFC 2-0 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

Other matches played over the weekend included She Maroons claiming a narrow 1-0 victory over newly promoted Tooro Queens at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal, with Lillian Kasubo’s 73rd-minute goal securing all three points for the Luzira-based side.

She Corporate and Makerere University ended in a 1-1 draw, while Wakiso Hills and Uganda Martyrs played to a goalless stalemate. The game between Lady Doves and Olila High School was postponed.

Looking ahead, Amus College WFC will be back in action on Saturday, November 9, when they face Kampala Queens away at the MTN Lugogo grounds.
