Fred Mugerwa has promised to bounce back from his team’s devastating loss to NIC in the East Africa Club Netball Championships.

“We are going back to the drawing board. We are going to train to see to it that next season in the league, we can beat them. I know we can beat them, it's just small things we need to rectify," said Mugerwa.

KCCA finished second at the just concluded tournament at Kamwokya Sports Grounds on Saturday with a 44-35 loss to the champions.

Coach Mugerwa was disappointed with the result but happy with how well his team played and in the grand scheme of things feels like they are well within their rights to challenge any team.

KCCA came close but of course, NIC was the better team. Realistically, they are in a situation where they have to keep fighting and hopefully their lack will improve.

Their best performance probably came against Prisons and it came down to one bad passage of the play. KCCA played well with the introduction of Haniisha Muhameed but it was only until the tail end of the tournament that Mugerwa reverted to the tried and tested pair of Irene Eyaru and Shadia Nassanga.

At the moment, Muhameed is still acclimatizing to the new system but in due course, she has the makings of a top addition to the team setup.
