The stadium, which officially re-opened in June this year, has quickly become a significant hub for Ugandan football. It serves as the home ground for Express FC and URA FC, two Uganda Premier League teams, and has hosted training sessions for the Uganda Crested Cranes ahead of international fixtures.
In addition, the facility is set to host the U-17 CECAFA Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers, which kick off this Saturday.
The inaugural edition of the Hamz Cup featured 16 teams, formed by tenants from their respective blocks and individuals from neighboring shopping grounds, including City Mall and Chain of Liberty.
