Kadiba Stadium to host 2025 Uganda Cup final

The Football Federation of Uganda (FUFA) has announced that the 2025 Stanbic Uganda Cup final will mark the inaugural match at the newly constructed Kadiba Stadium. 

FUFA third vice-president Nakiwala Kiyingi made the revelation during the tournament's semifinal draw ceremony in Kampala.

"This will be the pioneer game at our new facility," stated Kiyingi, acknowledging the collaborative effort behind the stadium's development. She extended special gratitude to FUFA President Moses Magogo as the visionary behind Uganda's first federation-owned football facility in the central region.

The project, initiated in April 2018 with a groundbreaking ceremony, represents a significant milestone in Ugandan football infrastructure development. Located in Mengo's Rubaga Division, the stadium was constructed on land donated by the Church of Uganda, with Vicar Reverend Festo Kalungi representing the diocese during the project launch.

With an estimated construction cost of $4.4 million (UGX 15.4 billion), the facility has received funding support from FIFA and the Ugandan government. The stadium's selection for the prestigious cup final follows its recent approval by CHAN and AFCON organizing committees as a competition-ready venue.

President Magogo, who served as project engineer, oversaw the development alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who laid the foundation stone. The stadium's completion and subsequent hosting of the Uganda Cup final fulfills FUFA's long-term vision to establish world-class football infrastructure in the country.

The 51st edition of Uganda's premier knockout competition will culminate at this state-of-the-art facility, marking a new chapter for football in Uganda as the federation showcases its first wholly-owned stadium.
