The championship rugby play-off final between Kitante Eagles and Warriors today at Legends Rugby Club promises to be a bruising fixture.

Both sides target promotion to the Nile Special Rugby Premier League next season.

Warriors lost to Mbale Wolves but petitioned and got a rematch which they won. They are not ready to lose this opportunity to get promoted.

Warriors will look to Richard Kinyai and Henry Musiisi who tormented Mbale Wolves in the semifinal.

Kinyai managed two penalty kicks, three tries, and two conversions, while Musisi managed a penalty.

The two players are expected to take advantage of their experience in premiership rugby to bring back their side to the premiership.

However, Kitante Eagles coach Edmond Tumusiime told Vision Sport that his charges are more than ready to face the opponents.

He noted that is aware of the threat Warriors have after beefing up their team, but he has prepared his boys for all challenges.

“We have been preparing since the season. We just have to keep the momentum and control the pressure,” Tumusiime said.

“They beefed up their side and they played better rugby in the semi-final than what they were doing in the regular season, but we shall approach them as they came,” the former Rugby Cranes and Kobs flyhalf added.

En route to the final, Kitante Eagles eliminated Gulu Falcons while Warriors saw off Mbale Wolves 31-6 in a rematch held in Jinja.

The winner will be promoted to the ten-team premiership league next year to replace the Rams who were relegated.
