Defending champions Kitara FC will square off against 2021/22 winners BUL FC in a blockbuster quarterfinal clash of this season's Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The draw, conducted this morning at Plascon Kansai's offices, set the stage for an exciting knockout phase.

Plascon Managing Director Santosh Gumte presided over the ceremony, praising the tournament's role in unearthing talent since its 2021 inception. "Our goal is to ignite and inspire Ugandan footballers, and we're proud to see players gaining visibility through this platform," Gumte stated. He particularly applauded lower-division surprises Kataka FC and Kaaro Karungi FC for their remarkable quarterfinal qualification.

FUFA Competitions Committee chairperson Aisha Nalule confirmed the matches will be played as one-leg ties between April 18-22. "If games are level after regulation, we'll have 30 minutes of extra time (15 minutes per half) before proceeding to penalties," Nalule explained.

The draw was witnessed by coaches Richard Makumbi (Kaaro Karungi) and Godfrey Owachango (Kataka), whose minnows will face off in another quarterfinal pairing.

With KCCA FC (10 titles) and SC Villa (9) as the competition's most successful clubs, this year's winner will earn Uganda's slot in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup. Kitara, BUL and Police FC have each lifted the trophy once before.
