The seventh round of the National Motocross Championship gets underway on Sunday at Kalisizo Kyotera with riders aiming to win titles in their respective categories.
It's only Gift Sebuguzi in the MX125cc class who has already sealed victory of the season with 320 points, 123 ahead of challenger Daniel Mitima.
The rest are targeting the title in their categories in this Sunday's event and that is what makes it a competitive event.
Jude Kyle Musede in the 50cc class with 289 points, 44 ahead of challenger Abigail Katende, targets maximum 60 points to seal his title defence.
His coach Bright Nyero was confident that his boy would make it so that the final event in November tests his ability in the 65cc class.
“He has been training. His bike is okay and his health ok.so, we are attacking right from the start to see that we get maximum points,” Nyero said.
The same is Jonathan Katende in the 65cc class, Jerome Mubiru (85cc) and Waleed Omar in the MX2 class.
Katende with 306 points on top of the log will have to win all three heats to comfortably think of winning it over challenger Ramathan Mubiru (257pts).
Waleed Omar in the MX2 class with 291 points, leads challenger Sharifah Katete (72pts) with 72 points and a win for him in Kalisizo will hand him the MX2 title with an event to go.
In the Mx1 class Fortune Sentamu (240 points) and trailing Isma Mukiibi with 27 points must win all the heats both in this event and the final heat to emerge champions.
