In an effort to avoid relegation from the FUFA Big League, Busoga United FC’s recruitment board, led by club CEO Daniel Gulere, has turned to familiar faces, bringing back former players to strengthen the squad.

Speaking at a press briefing on February 3, 2025, at Speke Courts Hotel in Jinja distirct, Gulere revealed that nine new players have been signed during the mid-season transfer window.

Among the key recruits are two former club captains—midfielder Anthony Mayanja and central defender Douglas Muganga—both returning from BUL FC. Striker Ivan Ssewava has also rejoined from Kiwanga United FC.

Additional signings include Jinja North United duo Paul Kibande and Gerald Hamya, midfielders Alex Mutabazi from Iganga Young FC and Franco Mugomba from Gaddafi FC, as well as forwards Amos Kirya from BUL FC and goalkeeper Ivan Bucho from URA FC.

Gulere stated that these new arrivals will replace outgoing players and urged fans to show their support by attending matches in large numbers.

"At a time when we need funds, we have set up various avenues to help the team sustain itself. We urge the local community to purchase our membership and attend our matches. This will help us survive relegation, and if we secure promotion, that will be a bonus," said Gulere.

The club has introduced different membership tiers, with fees ranging from sh20,000 to sh5 million.

Club manager Moses Tumusiime emphasised that efforts are being made to expand the club’s membership base across the Busoga region and beyond.

"We want to make Busoga United FC a club that belongs to every Ugandan," said Tumusiime.
