Uganda Primary Schools’ Sports Association, Soroti City has registered many schools participating in the primary school’s Ball Games.
The two-day event organized by Soroti City Sports Department and hosted at Soroti sports ground has brought together 67 primary schools that are competing in netball, volleyball, handball, and football.
Samuel Okwale Orogot, the General Secretary of Soroti City Sports Association said the championship is mainly for children under 14 and 12 years
According to Okwale, the competition is intended for the selection of the athletes that will represent Soroti City during the forthcoming nationals to be hosted in Soroti from August 25 to September, 6.
Moses Oyara, the vice-chairperson of administration UPSSA Soroti city said, “We are looking at taking 40 boys and girls under the category of U-12 boys and girls U-14 boys and girls in handball and U-12 boys and U-14 girls for football. It is from this background that I will express optimism that our performance at the national level this year will be better.
The Uganda Primary Schools’ Sports Games Association has registered for sporting disciplines of netball, handball, volleyball, and football for the normal category, while children with special learning needs will be showcasing talents in showdown, goal ball for the visually impaired learners, those with hearing impaired learners with compete in volleyball, football, Netball, and those that are Physically impaired will compete in Boccia and sitting volleyball.
