Kampala is set to host the second edition of the Eid Day Cup at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, as Muslims celebrate the end of Ramadan under the theme "Unity, Faith, and Excellence."

The day-long event on Eid will feature thrilling football matches, cultural displays, and celebrations fostering brotherhood.

Partnerships and Purpose

The Arab African Group for Trade and Investment has been confirmed as a key partner, with its Chairman and CEO, Al Hajji Yasin Musa Alzain, highlighting football’s unifying role:

"Football brings people together, and through the Eid Cup, we celebrate not just the Holy Eid but also humanity, peace, and solidarity."

The tournament’s launch at MTN Omondi Stadium was graced by dignitaries, including Ambassador Rashid Yahaya Ssemuddu and former Uganda Cranes midfielder Musa Mudde.

Tournament Highlights

10 exciting matches from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Participating teams: Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), Parliament of Uganda, Police, TV/Radio personalities, Sheikhs & Imams, Digital Media, Hajjs, and Corporates.

Main attraction: The Alzain Match featuring Diplomats vs. defending champions.

Prize Money

Winners: Sh3 million

Runners-up: Sh2 million
Third-place playoff winners: Sh1 million
