The She Cranes, Uganda's national netball team, has arrived in New Zealand to compete in the Fast5 Netball World Series tournament, which kicks off this Saturday and runs through Sunday evening at the Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch.

This competition will see the world’s top netball teams battle it out in the Fast5 format, which is a faster, more dynamic version of the traditional game.

Team preparation
The newly appointed head coach, James Nelson Bogere, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness as they prepare for the event.

He highlighted a key element of their preparation: a friendly match against the world's number one ranked team, Australia. This game, scheduled for Thursday, will serve as an important test for the She Cranes, giving them the opportunity to face off against one of the best teams in the world.

Bogere emphasised the importance of this match to help the players get into tournament mode and shake off any potential nerves after a long absence from competitive play.

"Playing against the number one team in the world is not an easy task, but it's the perfect test for us. We want the players to be mentally prepared and avoid any panic, especially since it has been a while since they competed at this level," said Bogere.

Looking Ahead
The Fast5 Netball World Series is a prestigious tournament that will challenge the She Cranes, but with a combination of solid preparation, experienced players, and the leadership of Coach Bogere, the team is poised to give a strong performance.

Uganda will be looking to build on their growing reputation in netball and take full advantage of the opportunity to compete against the world's best.

With the tournament starting soon, all eyes will be on the She Cranes to see how they measure up against the top-ranked teams in the sport.
