Teso Province FUFA Drum head coach, John Michael Erebu has resigned after serving the province for the last two seasons.
Erebu, CAF C certified tactician cites a combination of factors at play for the decision to lay down the tools.
The declaration came through a letter addressed to the chairperson of the FUFA Drum (Teso Province) and other key stakeholders.
In his resignation letter copied to several high-ranking officials, including the FUFA Drum CEO/Secretary, the Team manager of FUFA Drum Teso Province, the Chairperson of FUFA NERFA, the FUFA Competitions Committee, and all players, Erebu expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the trust, guidance, and the support he received during his two-year tenure as head coach.
He cited the decision to step down as being in the best interest of the province and the region, though the exact reasons for his departure remain undisclosed.
“I have decided to step aside from duties as Teso Province FUFA Drum. The working relationship with some of my technical staff is not healthy which puts me in a difficult position to execute my work chores. Also, the playing staff is not well motivated to turn up for daily sessions. This situation as a coach pushes me to the wall to plan and make decisions” Erebu hinted.
He assured the management of his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition, offering his assistance in any capacity needed during this period.
Last year, Erebu guided Teso province to the semifinals beating Lango province 1-0 at the Soroti city football stadium.
His departure marks the end of a significant chapter for Teso Province’s FUFA Drum team, which has seen considerable development and success under his leadership.
John Odong, the vice chairperson FUFA Drum Teso Province while talking to Vision Sports in an interview acknowledged receiving a resignation letter from coach Erebu, saying replacements are underway.
According to Odong, the province is looking at hiring the expertise of coach Frank Anyau who will lead the province as a technical director, Richard Malinga (head coach), John Ongodia (assistant head coach one), Julius Ogwang (assistant coach two), Brian Otingole (fitness coach) and Joseph Emitu (goalkeeping coach).
